Steps

  1. Create a new board horizontally oriented for columns

  2. Add vertical containers or swimlanes for each workflow stage (To Do, In Progress, Done)

  3. Add rectangles or cards inside each column for individual tasks

  4. Include task details like title, description, and assignee on each card

  5. Use color coding for priority or task type

  6. Add Story Points using Smart Elements for estimation

  7. Group tasks by team member using different colors

  8. Add Due Dates to cards for timeline visibility

  9. Update card positions as tasks progress through stages

  10. Use as a living document during standup meetings

Notes

  • WIP (Work in Progress) limits help prevent bottlenecks

  • Cards should contain actionable, clear descriptions

  • Kanban boards support continuous flow rather than time-boxed sprints
